I've been working on Gordon #3. I should have already finished it by now, but I was working on other stuff... one thing being the scripting language interpreter for Direct2d. I'm going with a C++ type syntax, as that will be the easiest to remember. When I did the TDF language for the original DOZ, I used so many commands that I started having to use a lookup sheet just to remember what did what.

Oh, before I forget, go vote for Gordon over on Hazard Labs. So far it's #1!

I used to have 5 speakers with my home theater.. well, not too long ago, the two front channels started sounding all screwed, to the point where they were unusable. So I lose them, and start using my 2 rear channels as my fronts, and set the receiver to use the 3-stereo mode, which just takes all the surround part and puts it through the fronts as well. Well lately, I've started hearing a little buzzing in these speakers too, as well as the center channel. If I lose these, I will be speakerless, which will be a vely vely bad ting. I'd almost be afraid to buy a new set, especially since I have no real job at the moment(aside from programming and such), in case it's the home theater itself damaging them. I don't go turning it up way too loud all the time or anything, either. The slight buzzing just bugs me to no end.

Good news though... I may acquire a faster computer soon. Not super fast (it's around 300mhz), but any speed increase will help in making Flash and 3d models. And I can always use extra hard drive space. I can't really do anymore upgrading to the one I have now. It's in an old AT case, AT motherboard of course, with the max 200mhz processor in it (overclocked to 225). I could use up to 128 megs of ram (I have 72 now), but that would require buying 4 32meg simms, which would go around $30-40 on Ebay. With this new 'puter, I'll be able to pop in normal dimms, which are dirt cheap in the stores. Woo!

Okay, I created the page for the original DOZ. There's a link on the Main page for now, until I make a button on the left for it. Or you can be lazy, and just click here.

We got snow. Wee! They predicted 4-8 inches, but as I figured, it was more like 2 here. But snow is nice none the less. Well, unless you have to drive on it.

I noticed some of you have arrived here from old BBS door game links pages. In case anyone is still looking for a copy of the DOZ door, I'll slap together a page and put it up later tonight. I meant to do that long ago anyway, so now is as good a time as any.

I've started posting parts to the actual DOZ story I've been writing in my LiveJournal, but I'm going to make a page for that here as well. Not sure if I'll get that done tonight, but you can always just read it on my journal here. Kind of silly to have a blog and a livejournal, but I thought I might want to post different things in different places.

Also, now that I have my voodoo3, I loaded up my Direct2d project and started tinkering again. For those who might not know, Direct2d is kind of a graphics and scripting language "core" I'm working on, so that I can make 2d games, but let them take advantage of the fancy rotation and lighting you get on 3d cards.

Well I'll be darned. All this time, my email link on the Contact Me page has been messed up. I put mailto:// instead of just mailto:. So unless you removed the // from the email address, it would try to send it to the wrong place. So if anyone has tried to email me and it bounced, try again.

Anyway, that's about it. I'm doing some Flash stuff for a buddy of mine at Hazard Labs. Should be pretty spiffy once he gets it all up and going. I'd tell you what it is, but that would ruin the fun!

The finished Episode #2 of Gordon is now up! Both sound and no sound, in case you have a slow 'puter.

Get a sneak peak at Gordon #2!

Any comments/suggestions? Email or IM me, as always!

The funniest three words I've seen this week...

BIG AMELICAN PAHTEE!

It's funny cause most likely someone actually said it.

I created an EZboard thing, since the current message board is screwy, but it turns out you have to pay for this one. Bleh. In any case, it's at http://pub97.ezboard.com/bplanetzentax, if you wanna check it out. I didn't really set it up or anything. You can donate to it or something too, but I doubt anybody would want to. Not that I wouldn't be grateful. You might get sneak-peek access to new episodes of Gordon and the like.

Soulblade so pisses me off. I think both of the controllers are half gone (one has a bad cord for sure), so when I'm trying to pull off moves in multiplayer, a lot of times, they don't work, which leaves me standing there like an idiot, only to get the crap kicked out of me from behind. I wouldn't care to lose, if I were doing my best at least. It just pisses me off that I lose due to stuff not working. Though when the controllers do decide to behave, it's a lot of fun. I kick them mightily.

I got my Voodoo3 yesterday. I would sound more excited, if I had a lot of reason to be. First of all, I think this one has issues, cause when I first turned my machine on after putting it in, I could hear it booting up, but there was no picture. After turning it on/off a couple times, it worked. Weird. Well that's when I came to realize that since I have a slower machine, the Voodoo3 isn't faster than the Voodoo2 in some cases. And in other cases, it's slower. As if that wasn't bad enough, when I booted up today to check email, the screen just went black except for the cursor.. then the machine crashed. When I pressed reset, I got the same crap again where I could hear it booting, but have no picture. Finally, after half a dozen on/offs, I just pounded the side of my 'puter, ready to say screw it (actually I did say that, just in a more colorful way). But when I turned it on that last time, it worked. Piece of crap.

My other complaint is that I can't use the same low resolutions in ZSNES that I could with my old Matrox Millenium II. When I try to, the whole computer just crashes. So I'm left using higher, slower resolutions. Blah. Oh well, that's always my luck.

I noticed the message boards haven't worked the last couple days or so. Not that anyone uses them anyway, but one would expect them to work despite that. So I'll dump these idiots and use something better.

I'm grouchy. And the asshole hacker wanna-be script-kiddies are still packeting DALnet, so so much for checking my memos.
